Georg and his wife Mara appear at the Regenbogen parents' initiative in Leipzig and apply for the coveted inclusion place for their daughter Bernadette, a child with epilepsy. The world in Leipzig's nouveau riche district is as strange to Georg as it is promising. He parks his old car a few streets away and embellishes his biography, but he has no great hopes of ever belonging here. The surprise is all the greater when Bernadette gets the place. Georg continues to hide the fact that he has no work and that his wife supports the family with cleaning jobs. He plays the likeable, successful event manager and lends a hand wherever he can, repairing electrical appliances, organizing flea markets and stirring up the parents with his entrepreneurial spirit. He is soon entrusted with the position of Chief Financial Officer and with it the power of attorney over all of the initiative's funds - hundreds of thousands of euros! Georg enjoys his “new” life to the full, including an affair with one of the rich mothers. Until the situation starts to turn sour. A mother becomes suspicious about Georg's biography. He comes under a lot of pressure and not only puts his own existence at risk, but also puts his daughter in danger. (ZDF)

The film sheds light on the topic of social injustice and the power of friendship to overcome financial differences through the story of Luca. The 13-year-old lives with his mother Ines and his little sister Sophie in precarious circumstances. Money is often tight, but the family sticks together. Luca takes on many household chores, especially when his mother is on night shift at the hospital. However, nobody at his school knows about his financial difficulties. Luca doesn't have any real friends; he often stays on the outside because of the lack of money. This changes when he gets a new classmate: Erik is popular and his parents earn well. And in him, of all people, Luca finds a confidant. But when a school trip comes up, Luca is once again confronted with his problems. His mother can't afford to pay the 240 euros. Desperate, Luca not only seeks advice from social worker Aalyah, but even commits theft in the heat of the moment. (ZDF)

Mariella is 11 years old and has been training Kung Fu with her father since she was three. He is a Shaolin master. Mariella trains three to four times a week. Kung Fu is a part of her life. 
The most exciting thing for Mariella are the competitions. She has already participated in over ten of them. In Germany and also internationally. Nevertheless, she still has a strange feeling when she stands on the mat in front of the jury. Then she closes her eyes briefly. She takes a deep breath in and out and tries to stay focused.
